MARKUS HAS 3 NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2008 SOUTHERN STARS AUSTRALIAN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS

Announcement today for the Awards has given Markus nominations in 3 sections - Male Vocal - Best Album & Heritage Song. Both Markus & Amber Lawrence have received 3 nominations each.
Now its waiting time until October.......

NEW SINGLE OUT ON AUGUST 4TH !!!!!

August what a great month so far - already my new single release "In My Boots" is getting airplay, not just in OZ but overseas. My surname helps in places like France and Belgium, we get some very interesting notes - some in English some not. I am just thrilled to think people are playing my music.

NEW VIDEO CLIP

The new video clip for "In My Boots" is in the can, just waiting now for it to be edited. It was fun and again a bit different from my last 2 clips - thanks to the girls who took part in it - amazing to say the least. Again my producer Jesse Frazer is the best he gets ideas from who knows where but his talent in pulling them together amazes a bushy like me. It should be up and ready to go to CMC real soon. We will keep you posted.

GYMPIE MUSTER CONFIRMED - MAIN STAGE PLUS +++

Really can't wait for Gympie this year again. Its the best fun. I am really lucky this year as have been asked to perform at the Street Party during the day of Thursday 28th. If you are around come up and say gidday to me.

The weekend before Gympie we fly to Darwin to do a VIP wedding, its always nice to go back home. Been living in Sydney and honestly at times so wished it was 33 degrees when it was cold,wet and windy. Sydney was an experience and caught up with quite a few mates, did some shows and generally learnt from the experience.

TAMWORTH 2008

This year was my busiest yet and really had a ball. I got the opportunity to work with my band, a great bunch of guys with Peter Cooper, who is just such a crazy wild man, Simon Johnson unreal bass player and not bad when he sings harmonies and "Big" Mal Lancaster the drummer with the mostest (wears really great aftershave I am told). We had a ball playing at Diggers the crowds were surreal and they got going and we won't forget the antics of Pete jumping over the speakers...
The highlight of this time was being able to be guest on the Carter & Carter show at Southgate. I really hold these guys in high esteme their shows are so uplifting and fun. I am so honoured to have been asked to work with them.
Caught up with my mate Tom Curtain the new dad. In all it was the best Tamworth I have had, meeting so many new people and hopefully have won some new supporters.

THE BEATING HEART AT # 4

"THE BEATING HEART" my 3rd single from the "Raindance" Album, got to #4 on the Country Music Radio Charts - that was exciting to now have 3 singles make the TOP 10. Thank you to all the radio guys n girls who support me so much. The Video Clip created lots of interest especially the unique car we used - did I have the best time driving it for the week, if only it were mine to keep .... we can all dream

"WALK IN THE RAIN" the 2nd single reached top 20 in the European Country Charts, and I did my first International Radio Interview - a great thrill.

URBAN COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL

As Ambassador for the Urban Country Music Festival in May I was really humbled, to be asked was really an honour and wow did I have a great time there. To Colleen and Joycee and all the volunteers Congratulations on a SUPER FESTIVAL.!!!
To be on the opening night appearing again with my great band of merry men, was truly a buzz. Thanks to all those people who came along to my shows and liked my music. Roll on next year cause if you missed out this time make sure you get there next May.... I will.
